Details the formation of the Russian-American Industrial Corporation (RAIC), brainchild of Sidney Hillman of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America. The company capitalized with sale of shares of $10 stock to sympathetic trade union members, many of whom were Jews who had been forced by Tsarist anti-semitism to leave Russia for America.
Established in 1922, the RAIC project survived until 1925. See Wikipedia for additional information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian-American_Industrial_Corporation
